At PASHA, we are always looking for volunteers to get involved in our cause and help in different ways.  Global health is multidisciplinary and requires many different types of expertise.   You do not have to be a physician or public health expert to contribute to our projects! Whether you want to only contribute to a specific fundraiser, or you wish to become a long-term active volunteer, your help is always needed! We are looking for many different types of volunteers:

• Healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses
• Computer and software engineers
• Web developers and programmers
• Attorneys
• Accountants
• Photographers/Film-makers
• Artists
• Students
• Other volunteers

You can support PASHA by organizing a fundraiser in your local community.  This can be very beneficial because it can give you the chance to develop or further build your leadership skills while contributing to a worthy cause.  PASHA is run solely by volunteers, which means you can be assured that the majority of the money you raise will go directly to our programs aimed at improving lives on the ground.

There are many different ways you can organize a fundraiser for PASHA:

Social/Networking Mixer

Call local venues to see if they would be willing to donate or rent a space to host a PASHA social. Ask businesses to donate products or services to be raffled off at the event and sell tickets in advance or at the door to raise money for PASHA’s projects!

Walk-A-Thon

Find a local park or track and determine 1-mile distance markers. Have participants find friends and family to sponsor a certain donation for every mile walked. Print and distribute mile-tracker sheets to participants and have volunteers sign off for each completed mile.

Concert

Ask prominent or local singers, musicians, comedians, or performers to donate their time to a concert fundraiser. Find a local venue and sell tickets.

Fashion Show

Ask local stores to donate or lend apparel for a fashion show fundraiser, or find ethnic clothes for a cultural fashion show! Call local artists to exhibit their artwork and organize an area for a silent auction.

Raising Awareness

Find a relevant film or documentary and arrange for a movie screening accompanied by speeches about PASHA’s mission and global health projects.

We believe the private sector has a large role to play in advancing the lives of the poor.  We invite you to support our mission of improving lives by supporting PASHA’s cause.  In the past, many generous corporate sponsors have helped PASHA by supporting our fundraisers or projects. You can contribute by:

Sponsoring a PASHA fundraiser: We are always looking for sponsors to help us finance future fundraise

Supporting a PASHA project: If you are passionate about a specific PASHA project, you can indicate the project of interest and we will ensure your sponsorship goes to the project you have designated.

In Kind Donations: In kind donations can include supplies and products that can help advance our projects.  They can also include merchandise or gift certificates that can be used at a PASHA fundraiser.

Become a Matching Donor: These matching donor programs incentivize employees to make financial contributions.  The company matches the contributions made by employees through a matching donor program.

Benefits of Corporate Sponsorship:

Publicity: We promote our corporate sponsors in a number of different ways including, but not limited to, display of their banners at fundraiser galas, promotion on social media, and through our email list serve.  PASHA’s vast network is expansive and reaches a large audience.  Our events on average attract 400 – 500 people and serve as a great opportunity for advertisement.

Tax Deduction: PASHA is a registered non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status with the government. Therefore, your donation to PASHA may be tax deductible.

Setting an Example: By contributing to our fundraiser, you can help set an example for philanthropy, demonstrating your company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Low Overhead Cost: PASHA does not have any employees and is run solely by volunteers.  If you donate to PASHA projects, you can be assured that the bulk of your donation will go directly to our programs.

If you are a student, we encourage you to join our cause by volunteering for PASHA or organizing fundraising events.  These are great opportunities to develop leadership skills and gain invaluable experience as you prepare to enter the workforce or pursue further education. Employers, graduate schools, medical schools, and dental schools are looking for individuals with a commitment to service and strong leadership.  You can gain these skills by volunteering with PASHA.  There are many advantages to volunteering with PASHA:

• Meeting other like-minded volunteers
• Directly contributing to the well-being of others
• Building your leadership, teamwork and communication skills
• Getting more experience, which you can add to your resume
• Working closely with physicians and professionals
• Potentially travel abroad with the PASHA team to set up and sustain our projects
